Biomedical Lab
In keeping with Dr. Diefenthal’s philosophy of local operations, he felt it critical that the hospital have its own biomedical lab to service and calibrate, not only the radiology equipment, but all of the equipment in use in the hospital.
This goal was realized in 2019 when the hospital hired the key personnel and designated the space for the department. EAMAF then provided funds to build out the space and obtained the necessary equipment to operate the facility.
At this time the department is successfully operating and providing its services to the hospital, as well as being a resource for other hospitals in northern Tanzania. EAMAF will continue to work with the group and provide support with its ongoing needs.
